During his imprisonment in Rome, Paul wrote this letter to thank and encourage the Philippian Christians. He also pointed them to a better way to live.
In verses 2-13 Paul exhorts the Philippi Christians to be unified, humble and loving towards one another. These qualities will result in Christ’s exaltation and appointment of authority to all who submit to him.
